The Hammer Mill Restaurant was established in 2007 by Barb and Mike Watson. They purchased the former Riden's Restaurant which was a well known local tavern and restaurant. The Watson's named the new restaurant as a tribute to the Standard Steele Corporation located next to the Hammer Mill Property. The steele mill has been in operation and the county's largest employer for over 100 years.
Barb Watson has taken over the operation of the restaurant with the intent of making it a casual dining experience with finer quality fresh foods. Hand cut steaks, fresh seafood and sauteed dishes are prepared on site. The recently added patio offers outdoor dining, volleyball, and outside bar. The Hammer Mill is proud to be a Pennsylvania Preferred restaurant supporting local farmers, growers and meat producers as well as local seafood brokers. Seasonal products are worked into feature dishes on a regular basis.
Barb's goal is to provide good fresh food at a great price not often seen in larger markets. A private room is available for groups of 15 or less for luncheons or dinners. Customized Catering on or off site is available. We encourage groups or businesses to talk with us about special items not on our menu designed to feed groups at your location. Our catering is available for large or small groups.
