The best way to attract customers' hard-earned dollars is to provide a good product. Holiday Bowl at Goods Lane and Plank Road has been doing that for 50 years.

A lounge was added to the business as part of a renovation project in 1983, and a larger $350,000 renovation project was completed in 1991. The outside of the building was redone, and the focal point was a drive-in canopy covering the front entrance. The main counter was located in the center of the concourse overlooking 40 lanes so workers could see all lanes and bowlers, which meant better control and more efficient and better service.

The lounge was made separate with waitress service and a service window. There was also an outside entrance to the lounge. A snack bar with a kitchen and grill was added adjacent to the lounge. A new pro shop and new restrooms with handicapped accessible facilities also were added.

Where you are now used to be a part of the McCloskey Farm. There were many farms and sawmills in this area.

In 1973, Don Dillon constructed a building in this spot, complete with red and white striped wall paper, and named the Lori-Lisa, an ice cream parlor.

From 1974 through 1978 Vince DiStefano ran his pizza shop here. After Vince, Don Reese, purchased Trails End.

Then a few years later a fire gutted the Trails End. The new and improved Trails End was built and sold to the Hoovers.

Between 1988 and 1998 George and Linda Keith owned and operated Trails End.

Today, the Trails End proprietors are two hometown girls, Susie Irwin and Missie McDonald. Together with their husbands, Rick and Mike, they strive to make Trails End a destination-not just a stop along the way. Enjoy your dinner and we hope to see you time and time again.
